about us
Scotch Tape is Macalester College's oldest all-gender a cappella group! We are a non-profit, student-run ensemble located in St. Paul, Minnesota. Our name and logo are in homage to the famous Scotch® Brand of adhesive tape made by our St. Paul neighbor, 3M, but our group has no connection with the company.
We sing a variety of genres, including pop, folk, and indie, and almost all of the music in our repertoire are arranged by Scotch Tape members.
We perform on and off-campus at events including birthday parties, weddings, engagements, athletic events, political rallies, and karate conventions. Every fall, we tour around the Midwest performing with other collegiate a cappella groups.

auditions
Scotch Tape holds auditions at the beginning of every fall and spring semester! We are always looking for new singers and vocal percussionists. Stop by anytime during our audition time frame and we'll guide you through a few warmups before you sing a minute of your favorite song. What you love, we want to hear!
